Piano Lessons
Learn to play one of the most beautiful and accessible instruments!
I teach students how to read music, develop technique, understand music theory, master rhythm, and explore improvisation, songwriting, and performance. My lessons are designed to help students play the songs they love while providing a strong foundation in music theory. I look for opportunities to learn about your musical interests and then create lessons that align with your musical goals. I also give you the accountability to maintain an effective practice schedule.
Songwriting
Write your own music by learning how to tell a story through melody.
We’ll explore how to create different musical styles and dive into the theory behind each one. You’ll also learn how to craft compelling, poetic lyrics that complement your music. We’ll study some of the greatest songs, analyzing their arrangements to understand what made them memorable. The end goal is that you’ll be inspired and equipped to write songs that your listeners will be impacted by.
Voice Lessons
Discover your voice and develop vocal techniques in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
I offer personalized lessons tailored to your unique voice. Through vocal warm-ups that explore different registers, and learning vocal anatomy to get the most out of your voice. We will focus on artistry—learning how to “paint with your voice” and bring a song to life. As someone who experienced a lot of anxiety with singing, I am driven to help you find the confidence in your voice.

About Allison Huntley
When I began taking piano lessons as a kid, reading music was hard with my learning challenges
I wanted to play music, but traditional lessons created a disconnect with enjoying music and learning how to read the musical language. Now, as a music teacher myself, I relate my students and the struggles they have when learning a musical instrument. With 8 years in the music education profession, I’ve created learning resources that help my students understand and learn the language of music. By using creative, easy-to-remember tools, I reinforce concepts such as; reading music, counting rhythm, understanding musical terms, and writing music. Ultimately, my goal is to help each student enjoy the art of making music, while giving educators the resources to support their students.
“My girls have really enjoyed piano lessons with Allison. She’s very kind and patient with them as they learn. My kids have different learning needs and she is going at pace that works for both of them. I appreciate her patience and grace with them.”

I’ve been teaching students with a variety of learning styles and musical interests for 8+ years. I would say my greatest strength as a teacher is patience, which is so important to give students as they are learning. My job is to provide musical knowledge, support, and encouragement. I studied at Berklee School of Music and received a Master Certificate in Arranging and Orchestration. I have studied under talented instructors and mentors for almost 20 years that have given me a solid understanding of the art form.
No, I also teach adults, from college students to senior citizens. Music is for everyone, and I truly enjoy working with all ages.
